At Willowbrook Dental Clinic, we use the iTero Impression Scanner to plan Invisalign treatment. It gives us the opportunity to show you what your results will look like once your treatment is complete.
What is iTero?
The iTero Element Impression Scanner is an intraoral camera that takes 3D impressions of your bite. It allows us to make treatment adjustments in real-time, store data digitally, and show you what your Invisalign results will look like before treatment begins.
How Does it Work?
Using the scanning wand, we start by scanning each quadrant of your jaw. The scanning wand should make this process comfortable for the patient and easy for the dentist.
iTero captures whole tooth images for an extremely accurate scan, which usually results in better-fitting Invisalign aligners.
After the quadrant scan, a full bite scan is completed so that the dentist can get an accurate idea of the patient's malocclusion. The complete model is then sent to Align Technologies so that the aligners can be created.
With an iTero scan, the Invisalign Outcome Simulator can be used to create a simulation of how the patient's teeth will look after Invisalign treatment.
