As you start nearing the end of your Invisalign treatment you may begin wondering what happens next. Here’s a little from our Langley dentists on what to expect once your Invisalign treatment is complete!
Teeth Whitening
Invisalign patients often decide to undergo teeth whitening once their treatment is over. Whitening their teeth highlights their beautiful new straight smile and helps to complete the look!

Retainers
Following any orthodontic treatment the teeth will not be as firmly set in the surrounding tissues as they once were. In order to keep your teeth from shifting back out of position over time, you will need to wear a retainer for awhile after your Invisalign treatment is complete.
You will likely need to wear a retainer full-time at first since your teeth are going to need a little time to settle into their new positions; however, after awhile you will probably be able to downgrade to wearing your retainer part-time. Part-time wear generally means wearing your retainer only at night or just on certain days of the week, as prescribed by your dentist.
Regular Dental Checkups
Of course, even once your Invisalign treatment is complete you’ll still have to visit your dentist regularly for checkups and cleanings. So we’ll still be seeing you regularly, it just won’t be as often since you will no longer need to visit us for the extra Invisalign-specific checkups.
