Being an orthodontist enables me to watch my patients' self-confidence grow. As their smiles develop and their external appearance changes, the effect that has internally on their self esteem is beyond words. Providing this wonderful gift to a patient is, for me, the most important aspect of my job, and makes being an orthodontist worthwhile!

About Dr. Couto
Dr. Couto attained her DMD from Nova Southeastern University, before graduating from Loma Linda University with her MS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Orthodontics is a changing and evolving profession, with new methods and technologies continuously evolving. In order to provide her patients with high quality services, Dr. Couto always strive to keep abreast of the latest proven orthodontic procedures.
Dr. Couto regularly attends the Invisalign Summit, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics and American/Canadian Association of Orthodontics Conventions. She also an active member of the Northwest Dental Study Club.
Dr. Couto truly enjoys the daily interactions with her patients, as well as the puzzles and challenges involved with unraveling complex cases, such as malocclusion.
Her favourite part of the job is watching her patients as they develop a greater sense of self-esteem with their developing smile. Dr. Couto believes that her work helps to provide patients with a gift for life that will enable them to have that fabulous smile for a great first impression.
Dr. Couto grew up in Kitimat, British Columbia. She enjoy traveling, figure skating, fitness, food... and especially ice cream!
Additionally, Dr. Couto believes it is very important to help those in need. That is why she is involved with the Run for a Cure to promote Breast Cancer Awareness and has helped raise funds for the Children's Hospital.
